Everyday Miracles

We were very fortunate to have Dr. John Solis speak at last night's PTG meeting.  His presentation on ADHD, Autism, and Spectrum Disorders was truly informative.  As I listened to his presentation, I was struck by how complex our brains are.  Life really is a miracle!  If you were unable to attend last night's meeting and are interested in receiving a pamphlet, please contact Mrs. Rosario, our school nurse.

Flyers for ordering cookie dough are coming home today.  In March, we are hosting a sale from Mixed Bag Designs.  Delivery will be in time for Mother's Day.

We are still in need of prizes for the Big 50 Raffle.  If you are able to secure a donation, please contact Dawn Cappalli or Maryann Petrella right away.

Lego Night is February 25th!  Send in your registration forms!

Have a wonderful vacation.  Here's hoping the fair weather gods favor us for the rest of the winter!

Just a few things...

Good evening, everyone!  Are you sick of the snow yet?  It seems like we will never see then end of it, doesn't it?  I have an update for you of all things "PTG:"

We are very pleased to have Dr. John Solis as a guest speaker at our next general meeting on February 12th!  The topic for discussion is "The ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and Autism Epidemic."  Dr. Solis is a board-certified Neurologist who lectures regularly in educational settings.  It is sure to be an informative discussion-please make every effort to attend.

We have had a very profitable beginning of the year at SMS!  To date, the profits for fundraisers are as follows:
          Christmas Club Raffle: $6175
          Coupon Books: $3012
          Candy: >$7000 (monies still outstanding)

We are currently selling Niagra Chocolates for Easter.  I have heard that the chocolate is REALLY fantastic!

Big 50 tickets are in progress.  If you can help get prizes, please contact Dawn Cappalli or MaryAnn Petrella.

If you are considering an advertisement in our play program, please see the donation form on the school website under "Thursday Memo Attachments."

Order forms for Peter Pan, Jr. commemorative T-shirts are coming home this week!  Order yours today-only $10!

Fathers and Daughters are putting on their dancing shoes next Friday, Feb. 13th!  Tickets are only on sale until tomorrow, as we have to give a count Friday morning.

Lego Night is scheduled for February 25th.  Are you practicing your construction skills?

I think that's it for now!  Have a good night!

A Pirate's Life for Me!

Happy New Year!
Can you believe it's 2015?  The older I get, the faster time seems to go by.  Speaking of time flying by, it's time to batten down the hatches and begin preparing for our school-wide trip to Neverland in this year's musical extravaganza, Peter Pan Jr.!

There is practice tomorrow, Tuesday, for all cast members from K-8.  Please let me know if your child will not be there-we are finalizing the cast list this month.  If you missed signs ups, send me a note-we are in need of a few more Indian Braves!

There are many ways to become involved in both the play and other activities through the PTG.  We are having a general meeting Wednesday night in the cafeteria at 6:00.  This month's guest speaker, Master David Babits, is going to talk about instilling self-confidence in our children.  Immediately following the meeting, there is a production meeting for Peter Pan.  We need lots of help-please come if you can.

Also this month, our Easter Candy Sale flyers are ready to go home.  Everyone who has ordered in the past has been very happy with the quality of the product!

If you are interested in helping to put together the Big 50 Raffle ticket, please contact Dawn Cappalli or MaryAnn Petrella.

Catholic School Week is at the end of the month-a great time to reflect on the advantages to Catholic education.  Please join us for Mass on the 25th at 9:30.  It would be awesome if the Church was packed with current and former students that Sunday!

Well, that's all for tonight!  Have a good one!

It's the most wonderful time...of the year!

Good afternoon, everyone!  Just a reminder that if you plan on attending our Milk and Cookies with Santa event next week on December 2nd, we need your response by tomorrow!  The children can have snacks, make crafts, and have their Christmas picture taken with Santa!  It's so much nicer than trekking to the mall and waiting in a long line!  Please email Jenn Buttaro if you have any questions.

I have not won a prize in our Christmas Club Raffle yet, but 20 lucky folks have!  I am crossing my fingers for next week...

Anyone who knows me well (or not so well) knows that when the radio begins playing Christmas music all-the-time, I am so excited!  This year, why not sing along and practice for our annual Christmas Caroling on December 11th?  We will be caroling from 6 to 7 and then will return to school for cookies and hot chocolate.  Anyone who signed up to be on the committee, I will be in touch soon!

On behalf of the Executive Board of the PTG, I would like to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving!  May God continue to bless you and keep you in His care.

It's (almost) the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Thank you to everyone who helped plan our second annual Trunk-or-Treat!  Everyone had a "spooky" good time!

The first drawing for our Christmas Club Raffle is today!  Winners will be notified and posted on the blog this week!  Good luck!

Our Christmas Shopping Boutique is Sunday November 16th.  We are in need of small ($5 or less) gifts to include in our Straw Raffle.  The raffle always does very well.  Things like dish towels, votive candle holders, pot holders, etc, work very well as prizes.  Thank you in advance for your generosity.  Remember, this event funds Olympic Day in the spring.

Have a wonderful day!
